Understanding the Quota Bifurcation in NEET UG

Every government medical college in India surrenders 15% of its total seats to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the All India Quota (AIQ) managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The remaining 85% seats are reserved for students who hold domicile eligibility in that respective state and are allotted by state counselling authorities (e.g., KEA in Karnataka, DME in Maharashtra, UPDGME in Uttar Pradesh).

Service Bond Realities: What Nobody Tells You

Before locking choices in state government colleges, examine the mandatory rural service bond duration and financial penalty for leaving the bond early.

For example, states like Assam and Maharashtra mandate 1 to 2 years of rural service or penalties ranging from ₹20 Lakh to ₹50 Lakh. States like Delhi and Bihar have substantially more flexible bond regulations.

Never finalize a college solely based on low tuition fees without inspecting the mandatory service bond certificate conditions.
